ビクセン、超広角75度で観劇向け双眼鏡 目を離してもよく見える
ビクセンは、観劇に適した超広角双眼鏡2機種を、10月24日に発売する。倍率8倍の「SW8×25WP」が35,200円、倍率10倍の「SW10×25WP」37,400円。

広い視界を確保し、歌劇、ミュージカル、コンサート、フィギュアスケートなどに適した双眼鏡。従来の超広角双眼鏡は、目と接眼レンズの距離をできる限り短くする必要があり、眼鏡をかけると覗きにくいというデメリットがあった。
新モデルでは、接眼レンズとプリズムの光学距離を短縮し、倍率8倍のSW8×25WPにおいて、アイレリーフ(視野すべてが見える、接眼レンズ面から目までの距離)を18.3mmと延伸することに成功した。接眼レンズと目の距離が離れた状態でも広い視界を確保でき、アイメイクや眼鏡を掛けたままでも気にせずにワイドな視界を楽しめる。
見掛視界(双眼鏡をのぞいた際に、視野がどの程度開けているのかを示す角度)は、超広角の75度を実現。広い視野で目標とする対象だけではなく、その周囲まで同時に見ることができる。表情だけでなく、パワフルな動き、舞台効果、背景美術まで楽しめるとする。なお、双眼鏡は見掛視界が65度以上で広角、75度以上で超広角と定義されている(旧JIS規格：B7121:1993において)。
視界が明るく鮮やかになるよう、対物レンズと接眼レンズ、プリズムの光学面全面に3層以上の反射防止特殊コーティング(マルチコート)を施した、パーフェクトフーリーマルチコート(PFM)仕様。レンズ面における光の反射を徹底的に排除し、コントラスト低下と光量ロスを抑え、明るくクリアな視界を実現している。
レンズは大口径24mmの接眼レンズで、目が疲れにくい設計。ゴム目当ては、長さの調整が可能なツイストアップ式見口を採用している。防水仕様でアウトドアや屋外フェスでも使用可能。
手で持ちやすいボディ設計も特徴。指の内側全体がボディに密着しやすいデザインで、親指が当たる位置にはくぼみを設け、ホールド性を高めている。ピントリングや視度補正リングなどの操作部分には大型パーツを使用し、素手での使用はもちろん手袋を着用していても操作しやすいとする。
このほか、ネックストラップ、ショルダーストラップとして使える長さ調整可能な専用ストラップが付属。適度なクッション性があり、首や肩への負担が少なく、長時間首にかけていても快適としている。専用ケースはボディカラーに合わせ、クッション性のある巾着ケースでキズや汚れを防ぐ。
倍率8倍のSW8×25WPは、対物レンズ有効径が25mm。実視界は9.4度。明るさは9.6。1,000m先視界は164m、ひとみ径は3.1mm、最短合焦距離は約3m、眼幅は45～70mm。サイズは10.7×11.4×5.4cm、重さは333g。カラーはグレージュ。
倍率10倍のSW10×25WPは、対物レンズ有効径が25mm。実視界は7.5度。明るさは6.3。1,000m先視界は131m、ひとみ径は2.5mm、最短合焦距離は約3m、眼幅は45～70mm。サイズは10.7×11.4×5.4cm、重さは333g。カラーはチャコール。
