日本旅行、「有人宇宙旅行」へ向け将来宇宙輸送システムと資本業務提携
日本旅行は、有人宇宙輸送サービス商用化に向けた取組みの推進や関連スタートアップとの連携による事業創出の一環として、将来宇宙輸送システムへ出資し、資本業務提携契約を締結した。出資額は5億円。
日本旅行は将来宇宙輸送システムと2024年9月に締結した「誰もが行ける宇宙旅行事業の実現を目指した業務提携」に基づく共同検討を経て、2025年10月に宇宙旅行事業の商用化フェーズに向けた新たな業務提携契約を締結している。
今回の資本業務提携は、両社のこれまでの提携を基盤としながら、有人宇宙輸送サービス事業に関する経営参加を示すもので、旅行会社の立場から本格的に旅客サービスとしての宇宙事業を検討していく方針。
これにより日本旅行は、将来宇宙輸送システムが提供する有人宇宙輸送サービス(地上2地点間高速輸送(P2P)および軌道滞在サービスを含む)の全世界における「独占的かつグローバルな総販売代理権」を取得。将来宇宙輸送システムとの連携を強固なものとし、同社が開発するロケット輸送機を用いた有人宇宙輸送サービスの商用化フェーズに向けた具体的な仕組み作りに取り組む。
将来宇宙輸送システムは、2030年代に単段式・往還型の宇宙輸送機の実現を目指している民間ロケット開発系スタートアップ企業。宇宙旅行や地上の二点間を宇宙経由で結ぶ輸送を行なう、有人ロケットプレーンを開発する。
