日本の教員は、世界各国と比べて長時間労働が際立つ一方、給与や勤務条件に満足している人の割合が低いことが、OECD＝経済協力開発機構の報告書でわかりました。

OECDの報告書によりますと、日本の教員の1週間の平均の勤務時間は50.4時間でほかの仕事に従事する大卒以上の人の44.1時間を大きく上回り、加盟国の中でも教員の長時間労働が際立っています。

一方、各国の物価の違いを踏まえた国際比較に使われる「購買力平価」で換算すると、日本の中学校教員の平均給与はおよそ4万3000ドルで、OECD平均のおよそ4万9000ドルを下回りました。

また給与に満足している日本の教員は28.6％でOECD平均の38.7％を下回り、給与以外の勤務条件に満足している教員も37.3％で加盟国の中で最下位でした。

このほかGDPに占める政府の教育支出の割合は、日本が2.7％で、OECD平均の4.2％を下回り、加盟国で下から2番目に低い水準となりました。

文部科学省は「教師になりたいと思える環境を整えることが重要であり、教職の魅力向上に向けた取り組みを進めていきたい」としています。
