JAXA「H3」ロケット 新形態のエンジン燃焼試験 計画どおり終了
日本の主力ロケット「H3」の新たな形態での打ち上げに向けたエンジンの燃焼試験が、15日午前、鹿児島県の種子島宇宙センターで行われ、JAXA＝宇宙航空研究開発機構は、計画どおり50秒間の燃焼を終えたとして、データの分析を進めることにしています。
H3ロケットについて、JAXAは2026年度、2本の補助ロケットを使わないことで、打ち上げ価格を低く抑えた新たな形態での打ち上げを計画しています。
15日は、午前7時から種子島宇宙センターの発射場でエンジンの最終的な燃焼試験が行われました。
試験は、H3ロケットの機体を発射台に固定した状態で、実際の打ち上げとほぼ同じ手順で行われ、カウントダウンのあと、3基のメインエンジンが点火されると、ごう音とともに大量の水蒸気が吹き出しました。
この試験は、去年7月にも行われましたが、燃料タンクの圧力が想定を下回ったため、今回、対策を講じたうえで再び試験に臨んでいました。
H3ロケットをめぐっては去年12月に8号機の打ち上げが失敗し、原因の究明が進められていて、打ち上げを行うことができない状況が続いています。
JAXAは、失敗の原因究明と並行して、今回の試験で得られたデータを詳しく分析し、新たな形態での打ち上げに向けた開発を進めることにしています。
JAXAの有田誠プロジェクトマネージャは「試験後に確認できているデータでは、大きな手応えを感じている。失敗からの回復に向けて、結果を残すことができたのではないか」と話しています。
