小学生が昔ながらの手作業で田植え体験 兵庫 三田
田植えの時期を迎え、兵庫県三田市の小学生たちが昔ながらの手作業による田植えを体験しました。
三田市の藍小学校では、子どもたちに農業に親しんでもらおうと、地元の農協の協力を得て20年ほど前から毎年、田植えを体験する授業を行っています。8日は5年生の11人が学校近くの田んぼに集まり、農協の人から、人さし指と中指で苗を持ち、3センチほどの深さに植えることなどを教わりました。
そして、水が張られた田んぼに素足などで入り、腰をかがめながら20センチほどの苗を丁寧に植えていきました。最初は「冷たい」などと声をあげ、泥の感触に戸惑っていましたが、やがてこつをつかむと手際よく作業を進めていました。初めて田植えをしたという男の子は、「思った以上に沈んで足が抜けなくなりましたが、うまく植えられたしカエルを見ることもできていい思い出になりました。ぐんぐん成長しておいしいお米になってほしい」と話していました。別の女の子は、「最初はドキドキしたけれども、友達と一緒にできて楽しかったです。昔の人は手作業で植えていたと知ってすごいなと思いました」と話していました。
８日に植えた苗は今後、農家の人たちが管理し、ことし9月ごろ子どもたちも参加して稲刈りを行うということです。
