特産のセロリ収穫最盛期 爽やかな香りが特徴 香川 観音寺
香川県観音寺市で、ハウスで栽培された特産のセロリの収穫が最盛期を迎えています。
爽やかな香りが特徴のセロリは香川県の特産品で、生産量は全国6位となっています。
セロリの栽培が盛んな観音寺市八幡町にある岩田嘉宙さんの農業用ハウスでは、1月中旬から収穫が始まりました。
26日はおよそ70センチほどに育ったセロリの根元を鎌で切ったあと、袋に入れてトラックに積んでいました。
岩田さんによりますと、夏場に高温が続いて雨が少なかったものの、品質は平年並みで、観音寺市ではおよそ500トンの出荷を見込んでいるということです。
岩田さんは「苦手な人もいるかもしれませんが、栄養が豊富なのでそのまま食べたり、塩昆布とあえたりして食べてほしいです」と話していました。
観音寺市でのセロリの収穫は5月上旬まで続き、関東を中心に出荷されるということです。
