新型シボレーコルベットは、超未来的！ 斬新なデザインが明らかに

4月7日、ゼネラルモーターズは、新型シボレー「コルベット」のコンセプトモデルを発表した。
新型コルベットのコンセプトモデルは、イギリスに新設されたスタジオでデザインされた。手掛けたのはジュリアン・トムソン。ジャガーでデザイン責任者を務めた経歴を持つ。
新型コルベットは2028年登場予定の噂だ。次期型が完全なるピュアEV（電気自動車）となるかは名言されていないものの、コンセプトカーはピュアEVを想定する。
エクステリアは、これまでのコルベットとは一線を画すデザインだ。ボディサイズは全長4669mm×全幅2178mm×全高1033mmと、低くワイドだ。マクラーレンのロードカーを彷彿とさせる。
ボディは軽量化と製造効率を考慮し、部品点数を極力削減。各所に軽量複合材を使うのも特徴だ。「パワーウイングドア」と呼ぶ電動開閉式のドアが目をひく。サーキット走行を想定し、徹底した空力性能向上を図るという。
