アメリカのABCテレビは11日、FBI＝連邦捜査局が、西部カリフォルニア州の警察当局に対し、イランが報復として西海岸で無人機を使った奇襲攻撃を行う可能性があると警告していたと伝えました。
ABCテレビによりますと、FBIの警告には先月初旬時点の情報として、「アメリカがイランを攻撃した場合、イランが、アメリカ本土沖の正体不明の船舶から無人機を使用して、カリフォルニア州の特定できていない標的に奇襲攻撃を実行しようとしている疑いがある」と記されているということです。
これについて、トランプ大統領は11日、記者団に対し「捜査中だが、多くのことが起きていて、われわれにできるのは、何かが起きたらそのつど対処するだけだ」と述べました。
また、カリフォルニア州のニューサム知事も11日の記者会見で、イランによる無人機を使った攻撃の可能性を認識していると明らかにした上で「無人機の問題は常に最優先課題であり、この懸念に特化した作業部会も設置している。ただし、現時点で共有できる情報は以上だ」と述べました。
