LIXIL、低炭素アルミ「PremiAL」を全製品展開 価格は据え置き
LIXILは、アルミ新地金のみで製造した場合と比較してCO2排出量を約50%削減する循環型低炭素アルミ「PremiAL」を、同社製品のアルミに価格据え置きで標準展開する。対象はLIXILが製造するアルミ形材を使用している全製品で、10月から順次展開。

脱炭素社会の実現には、全世界のCO2排出量の37%を占める建設部門での排出量削減が不可欠とされ、さまざまな業界で使われているアルミの低炭素化に注目が集まっている。
アルミ製品の環境負荷を減らすためにポイントとなるのが、新地金を使用しないリサイクルアルミ活用の推進。アルミは他の金属と比べると融点が低いため、少ないエネルギーで溶解して再資源化できる素材であり、製造工程でも元々CO2排出が少ない。また、リサイクル原料を使用することで原材料であるボーキサイトからアルミを抽出する工程で排出されるCO2がなくなるため、CO2排出量は97%削減相当になる(製品のCO2削減量とは異なる)。
LIXILでは、2022年12月からリサイクルアルミ使用比率70%の「PremiAL R70」、2023年10月から100%の「PremiAL R100」を、非住宅中心とした一部製品を対象に展開。同社のリサイクルアルミ素材は、不純物を除去する加工技術などにより、新地金と同品質の成分と特性、色調などを備え、再度のリサイクルも可能としている。
今回は、アルミ新地金のみで製造した場合と比較してCO2排出量を約50%削減する循環型低炭素アルミ「PremiAL」を、住宅・エクステリアなど同社が製造するアルミ形材を使用している全製品に展開を拡大する。
同社では直近でリサイクルアルミ平均使用比率が80%に達した一方、「PremiAL」シリーズ以外のアルミ形材においては、使用比率にばらつきがあった。これを生産技術の革新と管理方法の改善により、各ロットのリサイクルアルミ使用比率の均一化と下限値の引き上げ(60%以上)を実現。これにより、製品やロットに関わらずアルミ形材を使用する全ての製品で「PremiAL」展開が可能となった。
リサイクル素材は基本的に新地金から製造するよりもコストが高くなる傾向があるが、同社では国内外5つの全アルミ製造拠点で製造、量産することで、これまでと同じ価格で製品を投入する。
また、LIXILが製造したすべてのアルミ形材を対象に、第三者検証「SuMPO EPD」を取得。LIXILアルミ形材の製造・組立加工までのアルミ1kgあたりのCO2排出量は7.1kg-CO2eqとなり、新地金のみで製造したアルミ形材と比較するとCO2排出量を約50%削減していることを証明した。
同社では今後、リサイクルアルミ製品の外販も行なうほか、家電製品など建築資材以外の展開も検討。2026年度にはPremiALの全製品展開を完了し、2027年度の売上目標は4,000億円。2031年にはリサイクルアルミ使用率100％を目標として、売上目標4,800億円、CO2削減目標は2019年度比でマイナス825,900tを目指す。
