パナソニック、日本初の直流電源空調機 エネルギーロス低減
パナソニックは、日本初となる直流電源を主とした業務用空調機を実用化した。太陽光発電や蓄電池から出力される直流電力をそのまま利用できる空調機器。直流-交流変換が不要なため、エネルギーロスを低減できる。大成建設が共同事業者の一員として推進している2026年7月竣工予定の「本町四丁目プロジェクト」に採用された。

電気の流れには直流(DC)と交流(AC)の2種類があり、家庭やオフィスなどで使われる機器の多くは交流を電源として動作する。一方で、太陽光発電や蓄電池の入出力は直流で、建物内の配電時に交流に変換されるが、変換時に電力のロスが発生する。直流電力で稼働する機器であれば変換ロスが発生しない。
今回の業務用空調機は「一体型ハイブリッド空調 スマートマルチ」がベース。ガスヒートポンプエアコンと電気式ヒートポンプエアコンを組み合わせた空調機で、ガスと電気の運転比率を最適に制御する省エネ性と、災害時にガスと電気のいずれかが遮断されても運転継続が可能なレジリエンス性を備える。
これまでは交流電源にのみ対応していたが、停電時には空調機に内蔵した発電機から生まれる直流で空調運転させる直流連携技術を開発。これにより停電時にも交流電源に頼らず稼働が可能で、90%以上の電源を太陽光発電や蓄電池等からの直流送電によって空調を稼働させることが可能になった。
この空調機3台が「本町四丁目プロジェクト」(大阪府大阪市中央区本町4丁目)のオフィス部分に採用予定。国内最大規模の直流電流システムを備える建物で、4種類の直流電源(太陽光発電システム、リチウムイオン蓄電池、EVリユース蓄電池、急速充放電器接続の電気自動車)から8種類の直流負荷(空調設備、照明設備、次世代省エネ自動環境制御システム、USBコンセント、換気設備、清掃ロボット、エレベータ、電気自動車用急速充放電設備)に配電する仕組み。
