AIの活用がさまざまなインフラや防衛分野にも広がることが見込まれる中、国内の企業が基盤となるモデルから手がける「国産AI」の開発が進んでいます。

このうち、スタートアップ企業の「Sakana AI」は来月から大量のデータをAIに読み込ませるいわゆる「事前学習」を始め、来年春以降、段階的に新たなモデルの公開を目指すと発表しました。

この会社のAIモデルはすでに国内の大手金融機関で導入されていますが、今後は防衛省との契約に基づいて防衛分野の調査や分析にも活用される計画です。

国内で利用されるAIの多くは海外の企業が提供するモデルを使ったものが多く、経済安全保障の観点からも国産AIの開発が欠かせないとされています。

Sakana AIの矢頭肇社長室長は「機密性の高いインフラに関わる業界からは国産AIのニーズが寄せられている。安全性の高いモデルを提供することは非常に重要だ」と話しています。

このほか「NEC」やスタートアップ企業の「プリファードネットワークス」はすでに国産AIを実用化していて、自治体や企業での導入も広がっています。

また、ソニーグループやソフトバンクなど日本企業40社余りが加わる「ノエトラ」は、作業を自律的に行う「フィジカルAI」向けのモデルの構築を目指し、今年度から順次成果を公開することにしていて、国内の企業の間でも開発が進んでいます。
