ここ数年、都内には個性豊かなミュージックバーが続々と誕生している。誰でも気軽に立ち寄れる店から、InstagramでDMを送った人だけが入れるシークレットスポットまで、そのスタイルもさまざま。GQ JAPANでは「シン・夜活」シリーズとして、いま訪れたい都内の3軒を紹介する。夏の夜は、音楽に身を委ねながら涼しいひとときを過ごしてみては。

表参道のテクノ・ハウス専門店「VENT」を手がけるチームが、今年3月、並木橋エリアにオープンしたミュージックバー「PASS」。店名は「People’s Audio Sharing Space」に由来し、「音楽をもっと楽しく。いい音をもっと気軽に。」をコンセプトに、誰もが音楽本来の「楽しさ」を自由に味わえる場所を目指している。

その構想は、コロナ禍の約5年前に遡る。改めて「良い音とは何か」を考え、古い文献から最新技術までを参照しながらサウンドシステムの研究を重ねてきたプロデューサーの大城啓一郎。その探究をもとに、音楽をより気軽に楽しめる場所として形にしたのが「PASS」だ。店内には、ヴィンテージ・スピーカーをベースに、現代の技術を取り入れて再構築したカスタムスピーカーを設置。ここではJAZZを軸に、幅広い音楽が流れる。

こだわりは音響だけにとどまらない。メスカルをベースに自家製の燻製塩を使った「スモーキー・レモンサワー」や、水出しコーヒーを使った「珈琲・マティーニ」など、オリジナルカクテルも楽しめる。渋谷の喧騒から少し離れた並木橋で、音楽を聴くことそのものに浸る、新たな音体験を。
