青森 平川 りんご園の大雪被害 約3割の木を伐採した園も
この冬、大雪に見舞われた青森県平川市の農園では、雪どけが進む中、名産のりんごの木の被害が明らかになってきました。雪の重みで枝が折れたり、幹が割れたりしておよそ3割の木を伐採したりんご園もあるなど深刻な被害が出ています。
青森県の平川市では、雪どけが進む中、この冬の大雪の被害が明らかになってきていて、2日は長尾市長がりんご園を視察しました。
このうち、「ふじ」およそ80本を栽培しているりんご園によりますと、積雪が最大でおよそ160センチに上り、雪の重みで太い枝が折れたり幹が割れたりしたことからおよそ3割にあたる20本以上の木を伐採したということです。
また、ほとんどの木で枝が折れる被害が確認されていて、枝が折れた部分に防腐剤を塗って保護する作業も必要なことから、せんていの作業に遅れが出ているということです。
市内ではこのほかの農園でも被害が確認されていて、市は被害の状況の確認を進めています。
りんご園を所有する外川清孝さんは「雪がとけて被害の現実を突きつけられた。今後は、今回のような異常気象を念頭に置いて生産に取り組まなくてはならないと痛感している」と話していました。
長尾市長は「想像以上に大きな被害で、数十年かけて育ててきたりんごの木を失うのは痛恨の極みだと思う。県とも連携を取りながら支援に取り組み、りんご産業を将来につなげていきたい」と話していました。
