脂ののりよし 秋の味覚 サンマの競り始まる 福島 いわき
秋の味覚を代表するサンマの競りが福島県いわき市の中央卸売市場で始まり、脂ののった新鮮なサンマが次々に競り落とされました。
公海でのサンマ漁は8月に解禁され、いわき市中央卸売市場には、16日、北海道の厚岸港と花咲港で水揚げされたおよそ2トンのサンマが届きました。
午前6時すぎに威勢のよい掛け声とともに競りが始まると、仲買人が次々とサンマを競り落としていました。
市場の関係者によりますと、ことしのサンマは平年より大きく、脂ののりもよいものが多くなっているということです。
中には200グラムを超えるものもあり、この大きさのサンマが今の時期に出るのはおよそ10年ぶりだということです。
競り落とされたサンマは、市内のスーパーや鮮魚店で販売されるということです。
水産物卸売会社の山野邊竜介 課長は「例年にない大きなサンマで脂ものっておいしいので、塩焼きや刺身で食べてもらいたい」と話していました。
