日米財務相会談“米側から為替水準言及なし” 円相場値下がり

アメリカのトランプ政権が日米間の交渉でドル高の是正を求めるのか市場が注目する中、加藤財務大臣は日本時間の25日早く、アメリカのワシントンでベッセント財務長官と会談し、為替分野などについて協議しました。

加藤大臣は、アメリカ側から為替水準の目標などについて言及はなかったと明らかにし、これを受けて外国為替市場では円高が進むとの見方が後退し円相場はいくぶん値下がりしています。

アメリカのワシントンを訪れている加藤財務大臣は日本時間の25日早く、トランプ政権の関税措置をめぐる日米の閣僚交渉を担当するベッセント財務長官とおよそ50分にわたって会談しました。

加藤大臣は会談後の記者会見で「アメリカ側からは為替の水準の目標や、それを管理する枠組みといった話は全くなかった」と述べました。

今回の会談では、為替レートは市場で決まり、為替の過度な変動が経済や金融の安定に悪影響を与えるという認識を再確認した上で、引き続き為替について、日米で緊密に協議を進めていくことで一致したということです。

トランプ大統領が円安をけん制する発言を繰り返す中、今回の会談でアメリカがドル高の是正を求めるのか市場の注目が集まっていましたがアメリカ側から為替について具体的な要求がなかったと伝わると外国為替市場では円高が進むとの見方が後退し、会談のあと、円相場はいくぶん値下がりしています。 林官房長官「諸問題について生産的な議論」 林官房長官は閣議のあとの記者会見で「加藤財務大臣からはアメリカによる一連の関税措置は極めて遺憾で日米貿易協定との整合性に懸念があるとして見直しを強く申し入れた。その上で2国間の諸問題について生産的な議論が行われた」と説明しました。

一方、記者団から会談でアメリカ側から為替相場について何らかの懸念が示されたのか問われたのに対し「為替に関し緊密かつ建設的に協議を続けていくことで一致した。これ以上の内容に言及することは市場の臆測を招き不測の影響を及ぼすおそれがあることからコメントは差し控える」と述べました。
