HP、「Google Beam」販売へ VR無しで対面のような3Dミーティング
HPは、AI搭載の3Dビデオコミュニケーションソリューション「HP Dimension with Google Beam」を発表した。VRヘッドセットやメガネ、ウェアラブル機器が無くても、対面しているような没入感でミーティングを行なえる。

Googleのビデオ通信プラットフォーム「Googel Beam」を活用したもので、6台のカメラと空間オーディオ、AIを使い、参加者のリアルな3D動画を生成。リアルなサイズ、奥行き、色、自然なアイコンタクトを備えた映像をライトフィールドディスプレイに表示する。ライトフィールドディスプレイは、VRヘッドセットなどが無くても裸眼で立体視が行なえるディスプレイ技術の一つ。一般的な左右の目の視差を利用したディスプレイよりもより自然な立体感を実現できる。
本ソリューションを使用したテストでは、従来のビデオ通話と比較して記憶想起が28%増加したほか、非言語行動(身振り手振りなど)が最大39%増加、会議相手への集中度も14%増加したという。
Zoom RoomsとGoogle Meetで動作し、3Dによる没入型の1対1コミュニケーション、2Dによる従来型のグループミーティング、TeamsやWebexなどクラウドベースビデオサービスとの相互運用に対応する。
2025年後半から一部の顧客に向けて24,999ドル(約360万円)で販売開始予定。Google Beamのライセンスは別売。
