島根 出雲 小学生が宍道湖特産のシジミ漁を体験
島根県の宍道湖特産のシジミ漁を地元の出雲市の小学生が体験しました。
これは子どもたちに宍道湖の環境への理解を深めてもらおうと出雲市の朝陽小学校が毎年行っていて、ことしは小学5年生の児童、30人余りが参加しました。
子どもたちは宍道湖畔で3人から4人のグループに分かれ、地元の漁業者とともに漁船に乗り込みました。
そして棒の先に金属製のかごがついた「じょれん」を使って、湖の底からシジミをすくいあげました。
かごの中にはたくさんのシジミが入っていて、子どもたちは歓声をあげて喜んでいました。
漁業者は資源を守る取り組みとして、「じょれん」の網の目を大きくして、小型のシジミの漁獲量を減らしていると説明していました。
参加した男子児童は「かごがとても重くて、シジミ漁には力が必要だと分かりました。これから漁師さんへの感謝の気持ちをもってシジミを食べたいです」と話していました。
