ゆうちょ銀行、「トークン化預金」26年度提供へ
ゆうちょ銀行は、「トークン化預金」の取扱開始を検討していると発表した。個人・法人向けで、ディーカレットDCPが提供するプラットフォームを利用する。まずは、2026年度中を目途に、NFTやセキュリティトークンの取引に連動する決済手段の提供開始を検討している。
検討中のトークン化預金は、ブロックチェーン技術を活用し、決済における即時性と透明性を兼ね備えたものとする想定。ゆうちょ銀行が発行体となり、ゆうちょ銀行の決済用預金として決済機能を提供、預金保険の対象になるなど安心・安全に利用できるものにする。
また、スマート・コントラクトなどのブロックチェーン由来の機能を活かした、さまざまな事業者との連携を想定する。ディーカレットが主催するデジタル通貨フォーラム参加企業のうち、すでに複数候補先との協議も進めているという。
トークン化預金(Tokenized Deposits)・預金トークン(Deposit Tokens)は、既存の銀行預金をブロックチェーン上でトークン化したもの。預金をデジタル上で取り扱えるようにする一方、暗号資産であるステーブルコインとは異なり、銀行の規制および保護の対象になる。
