リーバイス・ヴィンテージ・クロージングが、1942年の501を限定復刻する。旧時代のディテールと新時代の厚手デニムが一瞬だけ重なった、稀有な1本だ。

1942年、アメリカが戦時体制へ移るなか、リーバイス®の501もまた静かに姿を変えていた。軽めのデニムに代わり厚手の生地が使われ始める一方、旧来の構造的なディテールは残されていた。今回復刻される「1942 501 Jeans」は、ふたつの時代が同居したディテールが散見される1本だ。 ■当時のディテールを忠実に再現バックル付きのバックシンチ、反転してレッグパネルの上に重なるヨークシーム、隠しリベット、シングルニードルのアーキュエイトステッチ、ビッグ“E”の赤タブ、ツーホースレザーパッチ。素材は当時登場したばかりの13オンスのシュリンクトゥフィットのセルビッジデニムだ。旧来のディテールと新しい厚手の生地が交差する仕様は、その後わずか1〜2年で消える。戦時下の規制によりバックシンチが姿を消したためだ。「1942 501 Jeans」は、8月13日よりリーバイス公式オンラインストアで抽選販売、リーバイスストア京都で販売される。 ■リーバイ・ストラウスジャパン：Tel 0120-099-501 ■URL: levi.jp
