au PAYとWeChat Payが連携開始 訪日客が支払いしやすく
KDDIとauペイメントは、6月10日から、スマホ決済サービス「au PAY」において、中国の大手スマホ決済サービス「WeChat Pay」との連携を開始した。これにより、日本全国各地のau PAY加盟店の店舗に設置されたQRコードをスキャンすることで、WeChat Payアプリを利用した決済が可能になる。
日本を訪れる外国人旅行者荷向けに、月間アクティブユーザー数が14億人を超える「WeChat」アプリに搭載される「WeChat Pay」とau PAYが連携開始。特に訪日中国人観光客のau PAY加盟店での決済拡大を見込む。
au PAYとWeChat Payとの連携には、EVONET Globalのウォレットネットワーク決済技術を使用する。この連携により、au PAYは今後、他国のスマホ決済サービスとの連携も目指していく。
