PayPayは3日、香港・マカオを含む中国のキャッシュレス決済サービス「UnionPay App」(銀聯QR)に対応した。PayPayの加盟店で、「UnionPay App」(銀聯QR)が利用可能になった。
PayPayにおけるインバウンド対応強化の一環。UnionPay App対応により、訪日外国人の約8割が、自国の決済サービスを通してPayPay加盟店で決済できるようになる。PayPayでは、17の国と地域で利用されている36の決済サービスを日本国内で利用可能としている。
UnionPay Appは、ユーザーがコードをカメラで撮影する「ユーザースキャン」と、店舗側がユーザーのアプリのQRコードを読み取る「ストアスキャン」の双方に対応する。UnionPay App対応は、「HIVEX」との連携により実現している。
