2月12日、メルセデス・ベンツ日本は、新型メルセデスAMG「GT63 S Eパフォーマンスクーペ」の日本仕様を発表した。
新型メルセデスAMG GT63 S Eパフォーマンスクーペは、フロントに4.0リッターV8ツインターボエンジン、リヤに電動モーターとF1由来のAMGハイパフォーマンスバッテリーを搭載したメルセデスAMG GTクーペ初のプラグイン・ハイブリッドモデルだ。
パワートレインは、4.0リッターV型8気筒ガソリンツインターボエンジン「M177」をフロントアクスルに搭載し、最高出力612ps(450kW)、最大トルク 850Nmを発揮。リヤ・アクスルには最高出力150kW、最大トルク320Nmを発揮する交流同期電動機と、メルセデスAMGが自社開発したAMGハイパフォーマンスバッテリーを搭載した。エンジンとモーターを組み合わせることにより、システム総合の最高出力が816ps(600kW)、最大トルクは1420Nmに達する。結果、0〜100km/hの加速タイムは、わずか2.8秒を実現した。
搭載するAMG ハイパフォーマンスバッテリー(HPB)は、メルセデスAMGペトロナス F1チームが使う、F1ハイブリッドレーシングマシンの極めて苛酷な条件下で実証済みの先進テクノロジーを元に開発された。高出力を頻繁に繰り返し発生出来る能力と軽量構造を兼ね備える。
エクステリアでは、サイドエンブレムにF1の技術を採用した高性能プラグイン・ハイブリッドの呼称である“E PERFORMANCE”を装着。そして、リヤエンブレムには赤い縁取りが施し、他のモデルと一線を画すデザインで差別化を図る。
インテリアでは、標準の2シーターに加え、可倒式のリヤシート」を有償オプションとして設定。リヤシートを倒せばラゲッジルームの容量が大幅に拡大する。なお、リヤシートに着座できる乗員の身長は150cmまでだ。
新型メルセデスAMG GT63 S Eパフォーマンスクーペの価格は、¥30,850,000。ハンドル位置は左のみだ。
