いじめ問題対応の神戸市教委職員の自殺訴訟 市と遺族 和解成立
6年前に神戸市の小学校で発覚した、激辛カレーを強要するなどの教員間のいじめ問題に対応した市の教育委員会の職員が自殺したことをめぐり、市が適切な対応をとらなかったと遺族が訴えた裁判は、市が3000万円を支払い、労働環境の改善を約束することなどを条件に、13日までに和解が成立しました。
6年前の2019年、神戸市の公立小学校で、教員間で激辛カレーを無理やり食べさせたり暴行したりするいじめ問題が発覚し、当時、対応にあたっていた神戸市教育委員会の30代の男性職員が翌年自殺しました。
職員の遺族は、長時間労働や精神的負担で生じたうつ病などに適切に対応しなかったことが原因だとして市に賠償を求める訴えを起こし、1審の神戸地方裁判所は去年「緊急的かつ具体的な措置をとる義務を怠った」として、市におよそ1億2000万円を支払うよう命じました。
市は控訴していましたが、市教育委員会によりますと、ことし2月、市が遺族に3000万円を支払うとともに、職員の労働環境の改善を約束することなどを条件に、和解が成立したということです。
神戸市教育委員会は「亡くなられた職員に対し、改めてご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。引き続き、職員のメンタルヘルスの向上などに取り組んでまいります」とコメントしています。
