九州新幹線は、架線の点検などのため13日、熊本と鹿児島中央の間で終日、運転を取りやめましたが、JR九州は作業が終了したとして14日の始発から全線で平常どおり運行しています。

JR九州によりますと、九州新幹線は14日午前6時に鹿児島中央発、博多行きの始発列車が出発し、全線で平常どおり運行しています。

九州新幹線は、12日夜、熊本市の車両所で、点検中の車両のパンタグラフに異常が見つかり、架線の点検作業のため13日始発から全線で運転を見合わせました。

このうち博多と熊本の間は午後5時すぎまでに上下線で運転を再開しましたが、熊本と新八代の間で架線の一部が外れたり損傷したりしているのが見つかったことから、復旧作業に時間がかかり、熊本と鹿児島中央の間は13日終日、運転を取りやめていました。

今回の一連のトラブルであわせて97本が運休となり、2万3000人余りに影響が出たということです。

JR九州は「ご利用のお客様に多大なご迷惑をおかけし、大変申し訳ございません。原因究明を進めるとともに再発防止に努めてまいります」としています。
