15日午後、岐阜県を流れる長良川で水難事故が相次ぎ、いずれも23歳の男性合わせて2人が溺れて死亡しました。警察などが当時の状況を詳しく調べています。

警察や消防によりますと、15日午後0時半すぎ、美濃市の長良川で「男性が岩場から飛び込んだ後、行方が分からなくなった」と消防に通報がありました。

男性は消防が到着する前に、近くにいた人たちによって川の中から救助され、病院に搬送されましたが、およそ3時間半後に死亡したということです。

警察によりますと、死亡したのは愛知県碧南市の介護福祉士、富田蒼さん（23）で、友人たちと川遊びをしていて溺れたとみられるということです。

警察によりますと、死亡したのはスリランカ人で、千葉県八街市のモハメド・ジャシル・シャフニ・アハメドさん（23）で、友人4人と川遊びに来ていたということです。
