PayPayは、キャッシュレス決済「PayPay」の本人確認において、本人確認書類の「撮影」による申請を廃止し、「ICチップ」を読み取る申請方法に統一する。改正犯収法で求められる対応を前倒しで導入する。
2026年11月上旬までに、マイナンバーカード・運転免許証・運転経歴証明書を利用した本人確認の申請方法について、本人確認書類の撮影による申請を廃止。マイナンバーカードか運転免許証のICチップを読取る申請方法に統一する。
昨今増加しているサイバー攻撃により、本人確認に使用された運転免許証の画像が流出する事案が発生していることなどを受け、前倒しでセキュリティを強化する。
また、27年4月1日に予定されている犯収法の改正でICチップへの一本化が決まっていたが、相次ぐサイバー攻撃により金融庁は前倒しでの対応を要請。金融機関でもSBI新生銀行などが対応を発表しており、PayPayも前倒しでの一本化を決めた形となる。
改正犯収法では、オンラインでの本人確認において、身分証明書や本人の顔写真を送信する方式が原則不可となり、ICチップの読取りに限定することなどが定められている。
