エドウイン×明治、"カカオ"のジーンズとデニムジャケット
エドウインは、明治の“カカオハスク”をアップサイクルしたライフスタイルブランド「CACAO STYLE」と共同制作したジーンズとデニムジャケットを10月18日に発売する。価格はジーンズが33,000円、デニムジャケットが44,000円。

ジーンズとカカオの新たな価値と可能性を提供する新プロジェクト。チョコレートの原料となるカカオ豆のハスク(種皮)はチョコレートに加えると口当たりや風味が悪くなるため、製造の途中で取り除かれる。明治は、これまで積極的な活用がされてこなかったカカオハスクに着目し、カカオの新しい価値を生み出すライフスタイルブランド「CACAO STYLE」を展開している。
今回使用しているのは、カカオハスクを粉末にし、和紙とブレンドした糸を緯糸に用いたオリジナルのセルビッジデニム。一般的なデニム生地よりも軽くドライなはき心地、シャイニーな質感が特徴。また、セルビッジは明治ミルクチョコレートのカラーをイメージした茶×金の特別仕様になる。
ベースのフィットは、エドウインのコンセプトショップで展開するEDSレギュラーストレート。エドウインの国内自社縫製工場で裁断から縫製の行程を一貫して行ない、独自開発・カスタマイズされた様々なミシンや自動機と熟練したスタッフにより厳格な品質基準で作られたメイド・イン・ジャパンのジーンズとしている。
ジャケットもジーンズと同じ縫製工場で作られ、1950年代のヴィンテージジャケットからインスピレーションされたディテールが特徴のミドル丈ジャケットになる。
ジーンズ、デニムジャケットともに今回の取り組みのために作られたCACAO STYLEロゴ入りのオリジナル革ラベルを使用。使っていくうちに色が濃くなりツヤのあるアメ色に変化していくヌメ革で、デニム地だけでなく、革ラベルの経年変化も楽しめる。
フラッシャーは明治ミルクチョコレートをイメージした限定仕様。EDWINロゴの入ったチョコレート風のチャームも付属する。

「EDWIN×CACAO STYLE EDS デニムジャケット」(EDS001-989)のサイズはS/M/L/XL。
