楽天、エージェント型の「Rakuten AI」開始 “最強AI”目指す
楽天は、7月30日～8月1日までパシフィコ横浜で開催中のビジネスカンファレンス「Rakuten AI Optimism」で、ショッピング、旅行、金融、通信など、グループ全体のサービスを横断的に利用できるエージェント型AIツール「Rakuten AI」の提供を発表した。また、楽天独自の大規模言語モデル「Rakuten AI 2.0」も同時に発表された。

楽天はこのAI基盤を「最強のAIエージェント」と位置づけ、ユーザーに最適化された体験を自然な対話で提供する構想を打ち出した。検索やキーワード入力に頼らず、エージェントがユーザーの意図を汲み取り、実行まで担うことで、利用体験そのものが大きく変わると強調した。
■ 個別最適化された「Rakuten AI」
オープニングキーノートでは楽天グループ代表取締役会長兼社長の三木谷氏が登壇。AIの役割が「検索・回答」から「理解・行動」へと進化していると説明した。Rakuten AIは、楽天エコシステムのメインゲートウェイとして機能し、ユーザーを楽天の関連サービスやその先に繋げる予定だという。
例えば、楽天サービスの利用状況から得られるユーザー属性や好み、購買傾向といった多様なデータを分析することで、一人ひとりに最適化された商品を提案する。さらに、スマートフォンなどのオンデバイスでも動作可能な軽量モデル「AI 2.0 mini」も開発中とした。
これらのAIは楽天が独自開発した日本語LLMである「Rakuten AI 2.0」を利用する。Rakuten AI 2.0はMixture of Expertsアーキテクチャを採用し、前モデルの30倍の規模のデータセットで学習しながらも前モデルより2.5倍ほど運用コストを抑えられているという。
30日からは、Rakuten LinkのRakuten AIで「楽天エコシステム」内の横断的な検索に対応。25年秋には、「楽天市場」でもRakuten AIに対応予定としている。
■ 目指すべきは“スーパー秘書”
このAI基盤は、「Rakuten AI」という新たなブランドとして展開される。ロゴデザインも刷新され、新ブランドとしてリニューアルされた。楽天は2024年11月から、Rakuten Linkを通じて「Rakuten AIアシスタント」を提供していたが、今回の発表により本格展開へと移行する。ビジネス向けには「Rakuten AI for Business」も既に用意されており、業務効率化や顧客対応など、法人用途での展開も強化される。
三木谷氏は、ユーザーの“スーパー秘書”としてさまざまな問題・疑問を解決させ、提案だけでなく商品の決済やホテル・新幹線の予約も代行できるようなエージェントを目指す姿勢を示した。
Rakuten AIは、Rakuten Linkアプリ(iOS版が先行提供)およびWeb版で利用可能。料金は無料で、ログイン不要でも使用できるが、利用回数には制限がある。楽天IDでログインすれば回数制限は解除される。
■ AIに重要なのは“データ” 楽天は3兆件のデータを保有
楽天は、70を超える自社サービスを通じて、ショッピング履歴、旅行予約、金融取引、通信回線の利用情報など、多様な行動データを蓄積。国内でのユニークユーザー数は約4,400万人、行動ログは3兆件を超える。「AIにとって最も重要なのはデータ」(三木谷氏)とし、同社が持つデータ基盤を金脈のようなものだと位置づけ、AI開発の優位性に直結すると強調した。
一方で、三木谷氏は日本におけるAI活用の遅れにも言及。2024年時点で生成AIの利用率は中国が81.2%であるのに対し、日本は26.7%にとどまっているという。高齢層ではさらに低く、AIを「使いこなす国と企業が競争力を持つ」として、企業や個人の積極的な活用を呼びかけた。
Rakuten AI Optimismでは、楽天グループやパートナー企業による技術展示エリア「エキシビション」も展開している。楽天モバイルの契約をAIアバターが対応する接客システムや、旅行の予約先を提案するコンシェルジュといったデモも実施。これらのAIはユーザーがキーワード検索や文字入力を必要とせず、自然な会話でやりとりができる。
Rakuten AI Optimismはパシフィコ横浜にて7月30日～8月1日まで開催。ビジネスカンファレンスのほか楽天グループやパートナー企業による展示エリア「エキシビション」などが展開されており、入場料は無料(事前の参加登録が必要)。
なお、初日となる7月30日には、カムチャツカ半島沖の地震により津波注意報が横浜市内に発令されていた。会場のパシフィコ横浜では館内アナウンスは行なわれなかったが、楽天広報は「災害時にはパシフィコ横浜との連携に基づき対応方針を判断しており、今回は会場基準により問題なしとの連絡を受けた。館内来場者誘導の観点から、会場側と対応方針を協議したうえで、混乱を避けるためアナウンスを控えたとしている。一方で、緊急時用に館内アナウンスの準備を行ない、退出口や避難動線についても確認と準備をしている」と回答した。
