23日のニューヨーク外国為替市場では、中東情勢が一段と悪化することへの懸念から円を売ってドルを買う動きが進み、円相場は一時、1ドル＝163円90銭台後半まで値下がりし、164円に迫りました。

これは、1986年11月以来、およそ39年8か月ぶりの円安ドル高水準となっています。

中東イエメンの反政府勢力で、イランの支援を受けるフーシ派がサウジアラビアの石油タンカーに対して攻撃を行ったと発表したことで原油の先物価格が上昇しています。

金融市場では、アメリカのFRB＝連邦準備制度理事会がインフレを抑え込むために、早期の利上げに踏み切るとの観測も再び浮上していて、円を売ってドルを買う動きにつながっています。
