フランスとドイツは、年内に予定されているフランス軍の核戦力の演習に、ドイツ軍の通常戦力が参加すると発表しました。アメリカがヨーロッパの安全保障への負担を減らす方針を示す中、フランスメディアは、ヨーロッパの抑止力強化に向けた「象徴的な一歩だ」と伝えています。

フランスのマクロン大統領とドイツのメルツ首相は、17日までの2日間、ドイツ西部で会談し、会談後に発表した声明で、年内に予定されているフランス軍の核戦力の演習にドイツ軍の通常戦力が参加すると明らかにしました。

アメリカがヨーロッパの安全保障への負担を減らす方針を示す中、フランスは、自国の核抑止力をヨーロッパにも広げる構想を各国と進めていて、フランスの有力紙「ルモンド」は、この演習へのドイツ軍の参加は初めてで、ヨーロッパの抑止力強化に向けた「象徴的な一歩だ」と伝えています。

一方、声明では、フランスとドイツの協力はNATO＝北大西洋条約機構の核抑止力を補完するもので、それに取って代わるものではないとも強調しています。

メルツ首相は17日の共同記者会見で、アメリカを念頭に「大西洋を挟んだパートナーシップがもはや当然のことではない以上、ドイツとフランスの協力は不可欠だ」と述べて、協力の意義を強調しました。
