建築家・妹島和世とフランスの名窯・ベルナルドのコラボアイテムが誕生！日本の花や果実をモチーフにした白磁のテーブルオブジェ
カトラリーホルダーとしてもオブジェとしても楽しめるアイテムや小さなボックスなど。白磁で作られたテーブルの上に広がる新たな風景が誕生した。

建築家・妹島和世と、フランス・リモージュの名窯であるベルナルドによるコラボレーションコレクション「Jardin de Table（ジャルダン・ド・ターブル）」が誕生した。磁器という素材に新たな建築的視点を与え、軽やかで詩的なテーブルの風景を描き出すシリーズとなっている。インスピレーションの源は、日本庭園。蘭や椿、菊、びわ、星、百合といった日本の花や果実をモチーフに、白磁の清らかさと繊細なフォルムで表現したオブジェコレクションだ。
バリエーションは、「Biwa」「Hoshi」「Ran」「Tsubaki」「Yuri」「Kiku」と名付けられた6種のオブジェを展開。個別ではカトラリーホルダーとして、またいくつかを合わせればテーブルコーディネートにおけるセンターピースとして楽しむことができる。
さらに、四季それぞれ（「Haru no Niwa」「Natsu no Niwa」「Aki no Niwa」「Fuyu no Niwa」）に加え、「Chiisana Niwa」と題された合計5種の小さな特製ボックスも登場。
テーブルの上に庭を作りたいと思いました──妹島和世
そもそものコラボのきっかけは、妹島が金沢21世紀美術館を訪れた際に目にした『ジェフ・クーンズ × ベルナルド』展。そこで展示されていた磁器作品の透明感と彫刻的な繊細さに魅了され、数ヵ月後のヨーロッパ滞在中にリモージュの工房を訪れることに。工房でパスティヤージュという技法をはじめとする伝統技術や職人の精緻な手仕事に触れ、磁器の澄み切った白が、自らの建築にも通じると感じたという。こうして、テーブルの上に広がる新たな風景が誕生することとなった。
妹島は今回のコラボレーションについて、以下のように表現している。
「私はテーブルの上に庭を作りたいと思いました。建築と同じように、内と外を繋ぎ、自然と日常生活をより身近なものにしたいのです」
妹島の建築的感性とジャルダンの精緻な技が融合しして生まれた磁器コレクション。真っ白な磁器の世界で表現する季節の移ろいや自然の美しさをぜひ手にとってみよう。
