「泣き相撲」赤ちゃんの健やかな成長を願い 鳥取 米子
赤ちゃんが土俵の上でにらめっこをして、先に泣けば勝ちとなる恒例の「泣き相撲」の大会が17日、鳥取県米子市の神社で開かれました。
「泣き相撲」の大会は、赤ちゃんの健やかな成長を願って、米子市淀江町の日吉神社で毎年この時期に開かれていて、ことしは、県内を中心に、生後6か月から1歳半までの55人の赤ちゃんが参加しました。
この神社の「泣き相撲」では、神様に早く声が届くという意味から、先に泣いたほうが「勝ち」となります。
赤ちゃんたちは、東と西から、はちまきと赤い腹巻きをつけて土俵に登場し「はっけよい、のこった」の掛け声とともに、まわし姿の氏子の男性に宙に高く掲げられ、対戦相手と向き合いました。
土俵上では、元気に泣く子がいる一方で、なかなか泣かない子もいましたが、境内は赤ちゃんの泣き声やなごやかな笑いに包まれ、保護者たちがわが子の戦いぶりを写真に収めていました。
宮城県から生後9か月の男の子と参加した30代の母親は「ふだんはよい子ですが、しっかり泣いてくれて勝ちました。優しく他人を大切にする子に育ってほしいです」と話していました。
