9月17日、レクサスは「IS300h」の一部改良を発表するとともに、特別仕様車“F SPORT Mode Black Ⅵ”を設定し、全国のレクサス店を通じて同年10月1日より発売する。 ISは1999年の初代モデル誕生以来、コンパクトFRスポーツセダンとして「クルマを操る楽しさ」を追求してきたモデルであり、レクサスの乗り味の礎として進化を続けながら、高い運動性能とスポーティなスタイリングによって25年以上にわたり世界約40か国で累計約130万台を販売してきた。

今回登場した特別仕様車“F SPORT Mode Black Ⅵ”は、好評を博している“F SPORT Mode Black”シリーズの第6弾となるモデルである。 IS300hの“F SPORT”をベース車両としており、エクステリアには新開発のブラック塗装を施したBBS製19インチ鍛造アルミホイールを採用。スリムな多軸スポークデザインにより、IS本来の精悍なスタイリングに一段と磨きをかけている。なお、この専用鍛造アルミホイールにはタイヤチェーンの装着はできない。インテリアのうちシートには、ブラックのウルトラスエードと本革に近い風合いと手触りを備えた合成皮革「L tex」を組み合わせた専用スポーツシートを採用し、運転席ポジションメモリー機能や運転席・助手席のベンチレーション機能が備わる。さらに、ドアトリムアームレストやフロントコンソール上部にもウルトラスエードがあしらわれた。

あわせて実施された一部改良では、寒冷地仕様が全車に標準装備され、実用性と利便性が向上した。パワートレーンは2.5L直列4気筒エンジン「2AR-FSE」を搭載したハイブリッド（HEV）で、駆動方式はすべて2WD（FR）となる。メーカー希望小売価格は、特別仕様車“F SPORT Mode Black Ⅵ”が¥6,950,000。ベースとなる通常モデルの価格は、標準仕様が¥5,900,000、“version L”が¥6,200,000、“F SPORT”が¥6,450,000となっている。
