KDDIとAVITA、フィジカルAIで接客ヒューマノイド展開へ

KDDIとAVITAは2日、ハードウェアを通じて現実世界に物理的な作用をもたらす「フィジカルAI」の活用に向けた戦略的事業提携を開始した。両社はサービス業務などでの国産ヒューマノイドの社会実装を目指す。 提携では、AVITAのアバター制作ノウハウや操作技術とフィジカルAI技術を組み合わせたヒューマノイドを開発。AVITAのAI技術とKDDIのデータ活用ノウハウを学習に活かし、自律動作の精度向上も図る。 また、KDDIが1月に稼働開始した大阪堺データセンターのGPUや、Geminiのオンプレミスサービスとの連携も検討する。 両社はこれまで、デジタル上のアバターを用いた「次世代リモート接客プラットフォーム」をローソンやau Styleやauショップなどに導入してきた。今後は協業領域を実空間で稼働するフィジカルAIへと広げ、小売、医療・福祉、エンターテインメント、文化・芸術など幅広い分野で労働力不足などの課題解決に取り組む。 具体的な取り組みとして、ヒューマノイドの開発に加え、稼働を支える通信インフラを整備する。また、接客時に得られる視覚・動作データをクラウド上で収集・解析し、AI学習に活用する。 2026年秋以降には商業施設などでトライアルを実施し、将来的にはau Styleやauショップでの展開も視野に入れる。役割分担はKDDIがインフラ構築やトライアル環境の整備を担い、AVITAが国産ヒューマノイドの開発を担当する。 両社は3月2日から5日にスペイン・バルセロナで開催される「MWC26 Barcelona」において、ヒューマノイドのコンセプトモデルを展示し、接客デモも実施する。 コンセプトモデルは、AVITA代表の石黒浩氏がデザインしたヒューマノイドをベースに、機能を刷新したもの。日本人に近い体格と親しみやすい表情を備え、空気圧駆動による静音性や、人間らしいしなやかな動作を特徴とする。 話す内容に応じて表情や動作を変えられるほか、カメラセンサーで動作物を検知し、自然な目配りも行なえる。
