「終戦の日」の15日、超党派の議員連盟のメンバー89人がそろって靖国神社に参拝しました。高市内閣からは、小野田経済安全保障担当大臣も参拝しました。

超党派の議員連盟「みんなで靖国神社に参拝する国会議員の会」は、毎年、春と秋の例大祭と8月15日の「終戦の日」に靖国神社に参拝しています。

15日は午前10時半前に、自民党や日本維新の会、国民民主党、参政党、チームみらいなどの国会議員89人が靖国神社の本殿に昇殿し、そろって参拝しました。

このあと、議員連盟の会長を務める自民党の逢沢元国会対策委員長は記者会見し「戦争の悲惨さや平和の尊さを胸に刻み、いかに戦争や紛争のない世界をつくり、心の中に平和のとりでを築くことができるか、深く考えながら心静かに参拝した。戦争の記憶や記録が風化しないよう格段の努力をしていく」と述べました。
