関税見直し 米「特別扱いできず」 経済再生相 強く求める考え
アメリカのトランプ政権の関税措置を受けた閣僚交渉で、赤澤経済再生担当大臣が自動車や鉄鋼などへの関税の見直しを強く求めたのに対し、アメリカ側は「日本だけを特別扱いすることはできない」として、否定的な認識を示していたことが分かりました。赤澤大臣は次回の交渉で改めて強く求め、協議の対象とすることを確認したい考えです。
日米交渉をめぐり、石破総理大臣は23日の党首討論で「トランプ大統領が出てきたのは、日本を一番重視して頼りにしているということだと思っている。日米が共同でやることでいかに世界に利益をもたらすかという話をしていかなければならない」と述べました。
また、赤澤経済再生担当大臣は記者会見で、次回の閣僚交渉について「1回目のやりとりで、アメリカ側の関心の高さや優先順位について、われわれなりに感じたこともある。どこを重点的に議論するかを早急に決めていかなければならない」と述べました。
こうした中、初回の閣僚交渉で赤澤大臣が自動車や鉄鋼などへの関税の見直しを強く求めたのに対し、アメリカ側は「ほかの国にも関係することであり、日本だけを特別扱いすることはできない」として否定的な認識を示していたことが、複数の政府関係者への取材で分かりました。
政府内では、アメリカ側は貿易赤字の解消を目指し、自動車や農産物の輸入拡大を要求している一方、関税の引き下げについては交渉範囲に含めないと主張することを、警戒する声が出ています。
日本側は関税の引き下げは譲れないという立場で、赤澤大臣は、次回の交渉で改めて見直しを強く求め、協議の対象とすることを確認したい考えです。
