カップル「まさか……」海を楽しんでいたら、水中から“巨大なクジラ”→息をのむ光景をカメラが捉える
カヤックを楽しんでいたグループの目の前で、ザトウクジラの親子がジャンプ。「息をのむ」瞬間を収めた映像に、世界中から驚きの声が集まっています。

コスタリカのプラヤ・エスコンディーダ地方の海でカヤックを楽しんでいたグループは、8月23日に“ある瞬間”を動画に収めました。
水中から姿を見せたのは、親子のザトウクジラ。
ザトウクジラは、カヤックの付近で水中から高くジャンプし、大きな水しぶきをあげています。
カヤックに乗っている男性は、クジラが起こした波に揺られながら、口を開けて驚きに満ちた表情を見せました。
1頭が水面から飛び出したあと、もう1頭が横で水しぶきを上げ、思わずカメラの向きを変える場面も。
動画の投稿者は、以下のようにキャプションで説明しています。
「『もしかしたらクジラに会えるかも』と密かに期待していたのですが、まさかこんな光景が見れるとは思っていませんでした」
「最初はただ近くを泳いで、息継ぎをしているだけだったのに…… 母クジラと子クジラがこんなショーを見せてくれるなんて！」
ザトウクジラは、コスタリカ近海でよく見られるそうです。
国際捕鯨委員会（IWC）によると、ザトウクジラは、南半球の冬から春（7〜11月ごろ）にかけて、繁殖のためにコスタリカの温暖な海域にやってくると言われています。
