Visa、デビットカードのApple Pay対応を開始 三菱UFJなど対応
ビザ・ワールドワイド・ジャパン(Visa)は3日、日本でVisaデビットカードがApple Payに対応を開始すると発表した。まずは、ソニー銀行、三菱UFJ銀行、Revolut Technologies Japanが発行するデビットカードで対応する。
Visaは2021年5月に日本でApple Payの対応をクレジットカードとプリペイドカードで開始していたが、デビットカードには対応していなかった。今回の発表にあわわせ、ソニー銀行とRevolutは3日から対応している。
Apple Pay対応により、VisaカードをApple Payに設定し、物理カードを使わずにiPhoneだけで、実店舗やアプリ、Webでデビットカードによる支払いが行なえるようになる。
Apple Payは、モバイル端末でVisaのタッチ決済を実現するVisaのセキュリティ・プラットフォーム「Visaトークンサービス」を採用。Visaトークンサービスは、Visaカードの番号や有効期限などの情報をトークンと呼ばれるデジタル識別子に変換し、ユーザーがモバイル端末を使って支払う際に、実際のカード番号を使わずに決済を行なう。そのため、スマートフォンの紛失や加盟店への不正アクセスなどによるカード情報の流出を防ぎ、安全なデジタル決済を実現する。
Visaでは、Visaのタッチ決済とともに、「Visaトークンサービス」のさらなる普及を目指す。また、Apple Pay対応のデビットカードの発行会社は、今後順次拡大予定としている。
