熊本 猫の保護ボランティア告発 死んだ約150匹を自宅に放置か
猫の保護活動を行う熊本市のボランティアの自宅で多数の猫が死んでいるのが見つかった問題で、市の動物愛護センターは、死んでいたのはおよそ150匹にのぼることを明らかにしたうえで、このボランティアを動物愛護法違反の疑いで刑事告発しました。
この問題は今月2日、猫を引き取って保護する活動を行っていた熊本市のボランティアの自宅の敷地内で、多数の猫が死んでいるのが見つかったもので、市の動物愛護センターが詳しい状況を調べていました。
これについて、センターが10日に会見を開き、死んでいたのは合わせておよそ150匹にのぼることを明らかにしました。
そのうえで、猫を死んだ状態のまま放置して、ほかの猫の飼育を続けていたとして、このボランティアを動物愛護法違反の疑いで刑事告発したということです。
また、飼育していた数が多く、いわゆる多頭飼育崩壊にもあたる可能性があるとして調査を続けるとしています。
センターの聞き取りに対して、ボランティアは「自分の責任であり、真摯（しんし）に対応する」と話しているということです。
熊本市動物愛護センターの瀧本勉所長は「このような事態が起こってしまい、残念に思っている。同じようなことが繰り返されないよう対応を検討したい」と話していました。
