12日夕方、埼玉県寄居町の治療院と住宅を兼ねた建物で火事があり、男女2人が死亡しました。警察が身元の確認を進めるとともに、火事の原因を調べています。

12日午後6時10分ごろ、埼玉県寄居町の治療院と住宅を兼ねた建物から「煙が出ている」と近くに住む人から消防に通報がありました。

消防車など10台が出動し、火はおよそ2時間後に消し止められましたが、木造2階建ての店舗兼住宅の1階部分が焼けました。

警察によりますと、この火事で、建物から男女2人が病院に搬送されましたが、死亡が確認されました。

現場は東武東上線の寄居駅から南東に2キロあまりの国道沿いで、周辺に住宅や店舗などが建ち並んでいます。
