“人工的な香りで体調不良” 子どもへの影響めぐり調査報告
中学生以下の子ども1万人のうちおよそ8％が、生活用品の人工的な香りで体調不良になるいわゆる「香害」を経験したことがあるとする調査報告を、国内の学会の研究チームがまとめました。
この調査は、柔軟剤や合成洗剤といった生活用品の人工的な香りが子どもに与える影響を調べようと、日本臨床環境医学会と室内環境学会の研究者たちのチームが実施し、9つの都道県に住む中学生以下の子どもおよそ1万人について、保護者に聞きました。
調査では、「香害」と言われる人工的な香りによる体調不良を経験したことがあるか質問したところ、「ある」という回答は全体の8.3％にあたる856人となりました。
症状としては、吐き気や頭痛などを経験したという子どもが多かったということです。
また、経験があると回答した割合は、
▽未就学児で2.1％
▽小学生で8.9％
▽中学生で12.9％と、
学年が上がるにつれて多くなる傾向がみられたということです。
さらに、どこで経験したか質問したところ、「園や学校」という答えが最も多く、香りが原因で登園や登校を嫌がるケースもあったということです。
調査にあたっている新潟県立看護大学の永吉雅人准教授は「実際に苦しんでいる子どもがいるということが明らかになった。調査を通じて香害について多くの人に知ってもらい、自分事として考えてもらうきっかけにしたい」と話していました。
