イラン情勢受け 石炭火力発電所の稼働率引き上げを公表 経産省
イラン情勢を受けてLNG＝液化天然ガスの調達に影響が及ぶおそれがあるとして、経済産業省は、新年度、2026年度の1年間、石炭火力発電所の稼働率を高める緊急措置を実施することを公表しました。
現在、政府は温室効果ガスの排出量が多い非効率な石炭火力発電所の年間稼働率が50％を上回った場合、操業している会社に対する支援を減額していますが、新年度、2026年度の1年間に限っては、この措置を適用しないことで石炭火力の稼働率を高めることにしています。
LNGは日本の火力発電の主力燃料で、中東から輸入している割合はおよそ11％にとどまっているものの、イラン情勢を受けてLNGの調達に不確実性が高まっているとして、石炭火力の稼働で節約を図る考えです。
今回の措置で、日本が1年間にホルムズ海峡を経由して輸入しているLNGの10％あまりにあたる、およそ50万トンの消費が抑えられるとしています。
