Uber Taxi、観光客急増の長崎でサービス開始
Uber Taxiは、3月12日に長崎県でサービスを開始した。長崎市と佐世保市で利用可能。
長崎県長崎市は、県最多の人口を有する県庁所在地で、国際線フェリーも就航。2015年7月に世界文化遺産に認定された軍艦島や平和公園に加え、夜景鑑賞で人気の稲佐山など、外国人観光客にも人気が高いという。
佐世保市は長崎県北部に位置し、国内最大級の広さを誇るテーマパーク「ハウステンボス」や200超の島々で構成される九十九島などを有し、近年観光客が増加し続けている。
バスやタクシーなど、交通機関の人手不足や運転士の高齢化が社会課題となる中、2023年時点で長崎市に宿泊した外国人観光客数は前年対比552.6%増、佐世保市は同対比326.5%増と急増。タクシー配車の需要が高まっていることから、今回Uber Taxiのサービス開始に至ったとする。
長崎県でのサービス開始により、Uber Taxiの対象エリアは全国24都道府県となる。
