au Starlink フェリーWi-Fi、対応船舶が約2倍に

KDDIとワイヤ・アンド・ワイヤレスは、2026年4月から順次、「au Starlink フェリーWi-Fi」の導入船舶を新たに7隻拡大する。これにより、主要都市間(北海道-東北・関西、関東-九州、九州-沖縄など)を結ぶ圏外が多い長距離フェリー航路で高速通信を実現する。これまで8隻へ導入してきたが対応船舶数が約2倍の15隻になる。 「au Starlink フェリーWi-Fi」は、最大220Mbpsの衛星ブロードバンド「Starlink」を活用した船上Wi-Fiサービス。導入済み航路では接続率が98.1％となっており、地上からの電波が届かない海上において通信環境を提供している。au回線利用者やau Starlink Direct専用プラン利用者は無料で利用でき、それ以外の利用者は24時間1,500円で利用可能。
