気象庁 最高気温40度以上の日に名称検討 候補に「酷暑日」など
気象庁は、ことしの夏の記録的な高温を受け、最高気温が40度以上の日に名称をつけることを検討していると明らかにしました。候補には、「酷暑日」などがあがっているということで、今後、具体的に検討するとしています。
気象庁によりますと、ことしの夏は、群馬県で国内最高気温の41.8度を観測するなど、40度以上を観測した日数が9日にのぼり、観測した地点数も延べ30地点と、いずれも、これまでの記録を更新しました。
この記録的な高温を受けて、気象庁の野村竜一長官は、17日の定例の記者会見で、最高気温が40度以上になった日について、新たに名称をつけることを検討していると明らかにしました。
これまで最高気温が25度以上の日は「夏日」、30度以上の日は「真夏日」、35度以上の日は「猛暑日」と名称を付けていて、40度以上を観測する日数が増えるなか、危険な暑さになっていることを簡潔に伝えることが目的だということです。
候補には、「酷暑日」などがあがっているということで、今後、具体的に検討を進め、早ければ来年の夏から使用したいとしています。
