米コロラド州のデンバー動物保護連合によると、同州の大学生が3月24日（現地時間）、海外旅行から帰国した際に自身のスーツケースを開けたところ、中に小さなヘビが紛れ込んでいるのを発見しました。 調べたところ、このヘビは中央アメリカに生息する「スレンダー・ホグノーズド・ピットバイパー」という毒ヘビであると判明。体重は18グラムで、まだ成体ではないと見られています。
