ChatGPT新機能「学習モード」 回答ではなく問題を解く過程を提示
OpenAIは29日(米国時間)、ChatGPTに新機能「Study Mode(学習モード)」を追加した。大学生を主な対象とし、ChatGPTの無料版と、Plus、Pro、Teamユーザー向けに提供開始する。数週間以内にChatGPT Eduでも展開予定。

ChatGPTの「Study Mode」は、単なる回答提示だけでなく、問題を段階的に解く過程を通じて理解を深めるための学習機能となる。大学生を想定して設計しており、宿題や試験の準備、新しいトピックの学習に特に役立てられるという。
例えば、「時速200kmで走行する電車が毎時5km/hずつ減速します。駅まで2000kmの距離がある場合、到着にかかる時間は?」といった問では、「11.5時間」という回答だけでなく、その考え方や算出方法などを紹介する。
また、「都市化(Urbanization)をテーマに400語のエッセイを書いて」といった依頼や、学習のために「私は歴史を専攻する大学1年生で、『啓蒙時代』をテーマとした試験の準備を手伝ってほしい」といってChatGPTと対話するといった使い方が可能という。
この機能は、教師や科学者、教育専門家などと協力し、深い学習をサポートするためのシステム指示をカスタマイズして搭載。大学生、教育者、教育専門家と幅広い科目やスキルレベルでテストを重ね、機能を最適化しているという。
Study Modeの利用には、ChatGPT内のツールの「Study and Learn(あらゆる学びをサポート)」から「勉強する」を選択し、質問する。
現在、大学生の3人に1人がChatGPTを使用し、その中で最も多い利用用途が「学習」となっている。Study Modeの搭載により、大学生のChatGPT利用の拡大を図る。また、授業計画作成や概念の解説を必要とする教育者も活用できるとしている。
OpenAIでは、Study ModeはChatGPTを活用した学習のサポートを改善する取り組みの第一歩と説明。今後も機能改善を継続していく。
