米元高官 “今後の米軍被害 大統領の判断に影響する可能性”

1期目のトランプ政権の際に国防総省で中東政策を担当した元高官で、ワシントン近東政策研究所のグラント・ラムリー上級研究員はNHKのインタビューに対し、今後、アメリカ軍に生じる被害の程度によっては、トランプ大統領の判断にも影響を与える可能性があると分析しています。

ラムリー氏はアメリカは軍事作戦を通じて、イランの核開発や弾道ミサイルなどの懸念を解消し体制転換を目指していると指摘しながらも、「トランプ政権が地上部隊を投入することは考えにくい。航空戦力によって目的を達するのが理想的なシナリオだ。ただ、航空戦力だけで、体制転換を実現するのは歴史的にも極めて難しい」と指摘しました。

ラムリー氏は、イラン国内でアメリカやイスラエルに反発する動きが出てくる可能性があり、体制転換を求める動きが広がるかは不透明だとしています。

また、「トランプ大統領にとって最悪のシナリオは、目的を遂げないまま、中東地域のアメリカ軍の兵士や施設に多大な被害が出ることだ」と指摘しました。

ラムリー氏はアメリカ側に3人の死者が出たことに触れ「アメリカ側の兵士などに被害が出てくることになると戦闘をどこまで続けるのかに制約が出るだろう。こうしたことが続けば大統領の判断に影響を与える可能性もある」と分析しています。
