楽天モバイル、800万回線突破 黒字化目標に近づく
楽天モバイルは18日、契約数が800万回線を突破したと発表した。サービス本格提供開始から約4年半での800万達成となる。楽天グループの決算会見では、黒字化の目安として800万から1,000万という契約数と、ARPU(1ユーザーあたりの平均収入)2,500円から3,000円を示しており、一つの目標を超えたこととなる。なお、第2四半期(4-6月)のMNO ARPUは2,021円。
楽天モバイルは2020年4月から携帯キャリアとしてのサービスを開始。現在は、シンプルな料金プラン「Rakuten最強プラン」とともに、'24年6月からは「Rakutenプラチナバンド」の開始により、通信品質の向上を目指している。
また、9月からは「Rakuten最強プラン」の65歳以上の利用者を対象にした「最強シニアプログラム」を開始しているほか、春から提供している「最強家族プログラム」、「最強青春プログラム」、「最強こどもプログラム」など、幅広い年齢層向けのサービスを強化している。法人事業では、「Rakuten最強プラン ビジネス」など、法人顧客向けのサービスを「楽天市場」や「楽天トラベル」などのパートナー企業にも提案している。
なお、800万回線は、10月18日時点の、BCP(Business Continuity Plan用途に販売しているプラン)回線を含む、「Rakuten最強プラン」、「Rakuten最強プラン ビジネス」、「Rakuten Turbo」と、MVNEおよびMVNOを合わせた契約数。BCP回線を除くMNOおよびMVNEを合わせた契約回線数は759万回線。MNO契約回線数は729万回線。
