SBI証券、国内株式の取引システムをAWSに刷新
SBI証券は、国内株式関連のオンライン取引システムをAWSクラウドに移行完了した。SBIグループの証券会社の証券口座数1,200万口座を超えており、1日あたり最大2兆円を超える同社での国内株式取引がAWSクラウドで実行されることとなる。3月から移行後の環境が稼働している。

Amazon Web Services(AWS)によるAWS Cloud Development Kitを活用し、オンプレミスと比較して半分以下の期間で、国内株式のオンライン取引システムをAWSクラウドに移行。SBI証券では、2023年9月に国内株式手数料ゼロの「ゼロ革命」を開始し、2024年には新NISAに対応。これらにより急速に顧客基盤が拡大している中で、キャパシティ拡張にかかる柔軟性確保やスピードアップの実現を期待し、AWSクラウドを導入した。
取引口座数や株取引の急増に対し、オンプレミスのインフラと比較して半分以下の期間でキャパシティを拡張できるという。
SBI証券では、アジアパシフィック(東京)リージョンで複数のアベイラビリティーゾーン(AZ)を使用することで可用性を高め、低レイテンシーを実現しながら1日あたり1億におよぶ取引サイトへのアクセスや、1日あたり約360万件の取引(発注)処理を実行する取引システムを構築した。
また金融サービスにおけるシステム障害や弱点を事前に特定して検証するテスト手法である、フォールト・インジェクションにおいて「AWS Falut Injection Service(AWS FIS)」を活用し、障害をシミュレートし、システム予期せぬ停止にどのように対処するかなど、高可用性の設計を自動で検証可能とする。
また、仮想プライベートクラウドとAWSサービス感の接続を確立するAWS Private Linkにより、SBI銀行や大阪デジタルエクスチェンジなど、SBIグループ内の事業体やパートナー企業間でセキュアなプライベート接続を確立する。
■ 柔軟さにクラウドの利点 エンジニア採用にも効果
SBI証券の助間孝三 常務取締役は、「新NISAのスタートでの口座開設や、今年に入ってからのNVIDIA株の取引など、我々の想定を大きく超える利用があった。嬉しいことではあるが、システム的には、安定稼働したままで、急な増加に対応するのは非常に難しい。従来のオンプレミスでは、自社でハードウェアを購入し、ネットワークやデータセンターを用意するなど、準備のためのリードタイムが必要だった。クラウドに置き換えることで、リードタイムなく、追加インフラを用意できる。PCからコンソールを叩くだけで、準備ができるというスピーディさは大きなメリットである」とAWS採用の効果について説明した。
また、システム開発を担うSBIシンプレクス・ソリューションズなどの内製エンジニアの強化とそれを通じた競争力向上にもAWSの効果はあるという。枯れたシステムの運用だけでなく、新たなテクノロジー開発をミッションクリティカルな事業で活用することは、魅力的で成長できる現場となるため、「いいエンジニアをあつめるきっかけになる」とした。
